Vermeulen makes switch to MotoGP
Chris Vermeulen
Vermeulen will swap Superbikes for MotoGP
World Superbike Championship runner-up Chris Vermeulen has agreed a two-year deal with Suzuki to race in MotoGP.

The 23-year-old Australian will ride alongside John Hopkins, replacing Kenny Roberts Jr, and ride the Suzuki GSV-R next year after leaving the Honda team.

"I'm so excited about the prospects for next year," said Vermeulen.

"It's going to be a difficult season to begin with. There are a lot of new tracks to learn, a new bike and a new team, but I'm up for the challenge."

He will ride the Suzuki GSV-R for the first time in the forthcoming Valencia test on 9-10 November.

"I am very happy to be part of those plans and I'll be doing everything I can to make sure Suzuki's faith in me is repaid," added Vermeulen.
