British Superbikes champion John Reynolds has confirmed he will race at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday - just over a month after breaking his leg. The Rizla Suzuki rider suffered five fractures in testing at Valencia last month, but has been given the go-ahead by a specialist for the season opener.
"I am not at full fitness, but I want to ride and more importantly, race," said the Nottingham-based Scot.
Reynolds will wear a special protective boot and has had his brakes modified.
He completed 15 laps at the Mallory Park circuit on his Suzuki GSX-R1000K on Wednesday before deciding he start his title defence at Brands Hatch.
Team manager Robert Wicks said: "It's nothing short of miraculous that JR has recovered sufficiently in just over five weeks to race at the opening round."
