Hodgson ends solid season in US
Britain's Neil Hodgson finished his first season in the American Superbikes series in sixth place overall.

The former World and British Superbikes champion took third place for the Parts Unlimited Ducati Austin team in the final race of 2005 in Atlanta.

Hodgson claimed one win and seven podium finishes in his debut year.

He said: "It's been an interesting year for me. It turned frustrating the last three rounds, but we came here and it's been one of the best all year for me."

Team manager Tom Bodenbach said: "Neil had a very solid learning season.

"When he came here, he had no idea about the tracks but he tried hard and impressed the team.

"Things are looking up for next year and we're excited about the off-season programme."
