Ryan Farquhar claimed his first TT victory this year |
Ryan Farquhar is to ride for the factory backed MSS Discovery Kawasaki team in the 2005 season. Farquhar will be supplied with a Superbike and a Supersport machine for the North West 200, Isle of Man TT and possibly the Ulster Grand Prix.
He will also ride the team's bike at the Irish national races with Crossan Motorcycles and Kenny Harker providing Production and Superstock machines.
The deal ends the Dungannon rider's six year association with McAdoo Racing.
Meanwhile, the Dundrod Motorcycle Club has confirmed that the Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week will continue in 2005.
The event took place for the first time this year but was largely disrupted by poor weather.
Organisers feel that the best way forward for both the Ulster Grand Prix and the Dundrod 150 road races is to continue with the new format.
The programme is to remain largely the same for 2005 with the provisional dates, 15-20 August.
Meanwhile, Eugene Laverty will compete in the 2005 British Supersport Championship on the new Honda CBR600RR for the Red Bull Honda team.
The 18-year-old was runner-up in the British 125cc Championship this year on his Honda RS125.
His team-mate will be fellow Ulsterman Jonathan Rea who missed the second half of the 2004 season because of injury.
The 17-year-old Ballyclare rider broke his left femur at Knockhill in July and is still short of full fitness.
