Former World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss was somewhat anonymous in 2004 as Ducati slipped from the MotoGP pace. He and team-mate Loris Capirossi had to face a difficult year after their team had made such a strong debut in 2003. But although Bayliss finished only 14th in the championship, his form was enough to earn him a move to pace-setters Honda for 2005. The Australian has signed to ride for the Camel Honda team, where he will partner Brazilian Alex Barros.
