| Moodie out of Ulster GP ![]() Moodie's dislocated shoulder still giving trouble Scottish motorbike star Jim Moodie has finally decided not to risk racing at Saturday's Ulster Grand Prix. The Glaswegian failed to recover sufficiently from a dislocated shoulder which has baulked his chance of racing at Dundrod for the first time in 12 years. Moodie injured his shoulder and bruised his face after crashing his quad machine during a practice run two weeks ago. ''The dislocated shoulder just isn't up to it,'' said Moodie. ''I took a ride on a bike close to home this week, but I was anything but comfortable. ''There was no way I could take part on Saturday.'' Moodie had hoped to take part in Superbike races and the 600cc event, which he won at this year's North West 200 and Isle of Man TT. ''All I can manage is to take part in the Parade Lap,'' he said. That popular part of the day's action will also include Ralph Bryans, Ulster's first motorcycling World Champion, and the legendary Sammy Millar. Practice on Thursday sees the roads close at 1100BST with 10 separated periods with the Superbike event due at 1420BST. | See also: 13 Aug 02 | Motorbikes 07 Aug 02 | Motorbikes 06 Dec 01 | N Ireland Top Motorbikes stories now: Links to more Motorbikes stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
