F1 team review - Williams

"Kazuki Nakajima hasn't scored any points this year and I doubt we'll see him in Formula 1 in 2010 unless he has sponsorship cash.

"I've met him a few times over breakfast at Williams and he's a nice lad but he's not F1 material. I raced against his dad, too, which made me feel old.

"Nakajima has the pace - in fact I think he's only a fraction behind Rosberg in absolute speed - but he can't apply it over a full race distance."

Nakajima will be looking to add to his nine points from 2008

What three words would you use to describe what it's like to be a Formula 1 driver?
First you need a big effort to become an F1 driver, then you feel proud and finally you need results; so effort, proud and results.

What is the biggest perk of the job?
Formula One is the best category of motor sport so racing against the best drivers in the world is exciting.

How would you like to be remembered as an F1 driver?
I just want to be myself and do the best I possibly can. To be a world champion would be the best thing but it's a very difficult job.

I feel proud of my father (Satoru Nakajima) as he was the first Japanese driver to complete full-time in F1 but it's not really important for me to follow in his footsteps.

What is your most embarrassing sporting moment?
I'd say the mistake I made in the pit stop in Brazil in 2007. It was my first Grand Prix. I couldn't stop in the pit box and I drove over three mechanics so that was embarrassing, but I also felt sorry for them.

If you weren't an F1 driver what would you be?
I think I became a race car driver because I thought that was the best job for me. I was not really that talented at other sports and I was not really good at studying - I didn't really like it. So, I think I would be in motor sports, maybe working in a team.

Who is the greatest sportsman of all time?
This is very difficult but I was watching the Olympic Games last year and Usain Bolt, who won the 100m and 200m, was very impressive.

What would be your perfect day off?
I would have a late morning and then I'd go out for a drive, look at the scenery in the UK, then go out for a nice dinner and chill out in the evening.

I like to drive in the UK, it's nice compared to Japan, where there is traffic everywhere. It's nice to have smooth, relaxed driving with no pressure on.

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?
As I've been away from Japan for three years now, I like to go on holiday to Japan. I found out there were many nice places to go in my home country so I like to go back there.

Apart from a house what is the most expensive thing that you own?
My car in Japan. I've owned it for a few years now though; it's a Toyota IS 200.

What is your favourite item of clothing?
I like to wear things that aren't too casual. I like the designer Paul Smith.

What is your favourite music to drive to?
Any kind of Japanese pop. When I lived in Japan I listened to more European and American music but when I came to live in the UK I prefer to listen to Japanese pop.

Which famous person - dead or alive - would you like to have dinner with and why?
Barack Obama, now he's president of the United States I think that would be interesting for me.

Tell us something about yourself that most F1 fans might not know
Most people know that I like football but I also like baseball even though it's not very popular in Europe. It's fun to play. I'm a hitter, but only as good as the average person would be.
