 Vettel is now 80 points clear at the top of the drivers' standings
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel had to settle for second place at the British Grand Prix but he can depart England a happy man after beating several past and present F1 drivers - as well as The Stig - on Top Gear's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' challenge. The world champion recorded a lap of one minute 44 seconds - three tenths quicker than the previous fastest time set by Rubens Barrichello last year. "It's true my pace wasn't amazing," said Massa, who started from fourth. "But that could have had something to do with the fact my floor was damaged, after I hit something at Turn Six; maybe a part from another car." Although the team have experienced a difficult start to the 2011 campaign, and are currently ninth in the constructors' championship, chairman Adam Parr sees no reason why they needs to change their drivers for 2012. When asked if he believed the team would retain both Barrichello and Maldonado, Parr said: "Yes. I think that is vastly the most likely outcome." "I have been involved in Indian motorsport for over 30 years, and I have done whatever I reasonably could to promote sport in India," he said. "Now to be criticised, largely by the Indian folks, that I don't have an Indian driver is just blatantly unfair. My only response to them would be that I know more about Formula 1 than they do."
