McLaren's Jenson Button has predicted there will be "carnage" at the start of Sunday's British Grand Prix as the cars will be flat out through the first section at Silverstone before the drivers hit the brakes hard for Brooklands.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh feels sorry for thousands of fans left short-changed by a design flaw of Silverstone's new pit and paddock complex. Due to the undulating nature of the land at that part of the track, it means the pit lane slopes towards the one end. As a result, a concrete wall now obstructs the fans' view of the Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari garages. (Press Association)
