Ferrari could already have a package of improvements ready for their new car

Ferrari have substantial upgrades in the pipeline for their 150° Italia car. A remodelled rear wing and updated bodywork have been tested on the team's Vairano circuit by double Superleague Formula champion Davide Rigon.

McLaren have amended their testing schedule and are planning to put the MP4-26 through its paces in Barcelona on Tuesday and Wednesday, before taking a break on Thursday and resuming on Saturday and Sunday.

The chairman of the Sepang circuit which hosts the Malaysia Grand Prix has performed a partial u-turn on the possibility of holding a floodlit night race at the venue. Having previously ruled it out because of the high cost of lighting the circuit, Mokhzani Mahathir described the possibility as "interesting". (AFP)

Suzuka will again host the Japanese Grand Prix in 2012 after agreeing a contract extension, the Kyodo news agency has reported. The Honda-owned circuit will stage this year's event on 9 October but the race's future had been uncertain after the withdrawal from F1 of Honda and rivals Toyota as well as tyre manufacturer Bridgestone.
