Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says that as the F1 calendar expands, it is inevitable there will in the future be only one race per country. This would rule out the mooted race in Rome in 2013, which is being planned as in addition to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Jean-Francois Caubet, general manager of the Renault Sport F1 unit has justified Renault's decision to sell its stake in the F1 team to Genii Capital and Lotus on the grounds of return on investment. F1 will now be a profit centre for the company with sales of engines to Red Bull and Lotus and then in 2013 a fourth team as well.
