McLaren have become the first F1 team to earn a Carbon Trust certification. It makes the Woking-based team the only F1 team to be officially recognised by the Carbon Trust for taking action on climate change.

Netherlands driver Giedo van der Garde is still in the hunt for the Virgin race seat alongside Timo Glock next season. Lucas di Grassi, who raced for the team in 2010, is also in the running.

Hispania boss Colin Kolles has shrugged off questions about his team's survival. He said: "We are working to have a better package than last year. From my point of view, the season was not as good as we would have liked it to be in terms of performance and this has to improve. Obviously this depends on a lot of factors but we are working to achieve our goals."

Kolles also believes the inexperience of his drivers cost the team last season. "I think the only reason why we did not finish 10th is that teams like Lotus and Virgin had more experienced drivers during the whole season," he added.
