Our series of photographs aimed at conveying Formula 1 in its full glory continues with an impressionistic shot of Lewis Hamilton's McLaren at the Turkish Grand Prix.

The photographs are taken by Darren Heath, who over the last 20 years has carved a reputation as one of the best photographers in F1.

This is Darren's story behind his latest image:

"Lewis Hamilton's McLaren-Mercedes MP4-24 makes its way along the pit lane at Turkey's Istanbul Park circuit, its shape shimmering through a blistering heat haze.

"Throughout the F1 photographic fraternity, there is a wholly negative attitude to circuit designer Herman Tilke's tour de force of a track. This has always struck me as bizarre.

"Sure, the place doesn't offer up as many great picture taking opportunities as some other circuits but, hey, not everywhere can be Monaco!

"A perceived lack of vantage points simply means the creative photographer has to try a little harder and, as I have attempted to do with the shot above, make the location work for them.

"Using the heat haze to illustrate just how hot the weekend's weather was, the scene is more akin to an oil painting than a photograph and in a way sums up just what a uncomfortable time the world champion is having this year."
