Michael Schumacher's future could be made clear after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on 10 September when Ferrari announce their 2007 driver line-up. Kimi Raikkonen is expected to join from McLaren but seven-times world champion Schumacher may decide to retire.
Schumacher is out of contract at the end of the season, although he has an open invitation to stay on.
The 37-year-old is 12 points adrift of Renault's Fernando Alonso with four races remaining this season.
Formula One insiders increasingly expect Schumacher to retire.
That would make Monza the German's final ever Grand Prix in Europe.
