Webber has just one podium finish this season

Mark Webber is weighing up his options - including a possible move to Renault - after splitting with Williams.

Webber, who will be replaced by test driver Alex Wurz in 2007, is managed by Renault team boss Flavio Briatore.

A spokeswoman for the Australian's management company told BBC Sport: "Mark's not stupid - he knows there are options out there, including Renault."

Speaking ahead of the Hungarian GP, Webber said: "I have a few plates spinning and we'll see what happens."

The involvement of Briatore as Webber's manager adds weight to the rumours linking with him a move to Renault.

"Obviously he's managed by Flavio and anything done is in consultation with him, but no decisions have been taken," said the spokeswoman.

World champion Fernando Alonso joins McLaren next season, creating a vacancy at the French team.

But the traditional F1 drivers' merry-go-round could be held up until the respective futures of Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen are resolved.

Schumacher, 37, has yet to decide on his future beyond this season with speculation he could retire if he overhauls Alonso to win his eighth world title.

Raikkonen is the favourite to take over his Ferrari drive should a vacancy arise.

The spokeswoman for Webber's management company added: "We're going through the process of looking at Mark's options for the future.

"But obviously once the situation regarding Michael and Kimi is resolved everything else should become a lot clearer.

"Williams were unable to take up the final year on his contract - things change very quickly in F1 and we understand that.

"They tried to sort out a new contract, but it just didn't work out.

"Time was more of an issue for Williams than it was for us."

The 29-year-old Webber joined Williams in 2005 after a stint with the-then Jaguar team.

He has endured a frustrating season, with an under-performing car limiting him to one podium finish so far, while Williams languish in eighth place in the constructors' standings.
