Button braced for disappointment
Jenson Button
A frustrated Button is only seventh in the drivers' standings
Honda driver Jenson Button has admitted he is "very unlikely" to win Sunday's British Grand Prix but will not ease up in his quest for his maiden F1 victory.

The English driver has gone 107 races without a win in Formula One, and has braced himself for further disappointment at Silverstone.

"It might happen this race - it's very unlikely - or in four races, next year or the year after," said Button.

"But nothing changes, you still give 100%, you give everything you can."

I hope we can win a race but that doesn't make the car go quicker - I can't do any more

Jenson Button
The 26-year-old finished a distant 11th in Monaco a fortnight ago and has limited his aims at Silverstone to "getting the best out of the package we have".

He said: "We are not going to suddenly jump forward compared to Monaco and previous races. Renault and Ferrari are very strong at the moment and I think McLaren are too."

Honda have had just one podium finish this season but Button is hoping there are more to come.

"We need to improve and as a team we are doing that," he said.

"It's not going to happen overnight. We are improving things so for the future I am very positive that we will be challenging at the front.

"I hope we have a chance of getting more podiums this season. Obviously I hope we can win a race but that doesn't make the car go quicker. I can't do any more."
