Coulthard wanted more laps under his belt before Sunday's race |
David Coulthard is concerned by Red Bull's build-up to the new F1 season which begins on Sunday in Bahrain. Red Bull's winter testing was hampered by overheating problems, and Coulthard said: "It's obviously disappointing."
The Scot said: "We've done 7,000km and the schedule was to do 14,000. Honda have done 26,000 - that gives you an idea of how far we are behind.
"We're here not having done a full GP distance yet, but we are confident we are going to finish this one."
The problems have overshadowed Red Bull's preparations for their second season in F1, and their first with Ferrari engines.
However, Coulthard insists the team can overcome their troubles.
"At McLaren in 1998 we never did any grand prix distances before the first race and both cars finished and lapped the field," he said.
