BMW has dismissed speculation that it could quit Formula One because of the Williams team's disappointing results. Chief executive Helmut Panke said: "We are not satisfied with the sixth and seventh places, and we are in intensive discussions on how to do better.
"But F1 and BMW belong together," he insisted at the opening of a new BMW factory in Leipzig, Germany.
BMW are fourth in the constructors' table after five races behind leaders Renault, Toyota and McLaren-Mercedes.
Drivers Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld are sixth and 10th in the standings.
German magazine Der Spiegel had reported top BMW managers were considering a withdrawal, in part because employees were turning up the pressure.
It quoted works council chief Manfred Schoch as saying: "If we are always driving at the back, the money is badly invested."
