Christian Klien will race for Red Bull in the final three Grands Prix of the season in Brazil, Japan and China. The team have decided to stop switching the second drive, behind principal racer David Coulthard, between Klien and Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi.
"We have decided Christian will keep the cockpit until the end of the season," Red Bull sporting director Helmut Marko told Austrian radio.
"No more swaps are planned. Swapping drivers brings too many disadvantages."
Liuzzi started four races for Red Bull earlier this season and won a solitary point for the team in San Marino.
Klien has scored five points for the Austrian-owned team in a total of 12 races.
In their first season in Formula One, Red Bull lie in seventh spot in the constructors' championship with 27 points.
And Marko believes Klien's greater experience could help them close the four-point gap on closest rivals BAR.
"Christian knows the car well now and can help us win sixth place in the constructors," added Marko.
