BAR driver Jenson Button says he is happy with the way talks are going as he seeks to get out of his contract with Williams next year.
Last year, Button tried to leave BAR and signed a deal with Williams, but he has since had a change of heart and wants to stay with his current team.
"We're still talking so the situation's good but I can't say anything else," said the 25-year-old Briton.
"We've talked. I think it's going in the right direction for both of us."
Button's ill-fated attempt to leave BAR last year was conducted in the full glare of the public spotlight, but this time the talks have taken place in a more private manner.

The driver admits he handled it badly, and says his failure to talk with then-team BAR chief David Richards was a big mistake.
"It is definitely more amicable this time," he said.
"I think a lot of that's down to me making a mistake last year in not talking to him.
"The way I went about it this year has been much better. The conversations we have had have been very good.
"It's better for everyone if it gets sorted out sooner rather than later.
"We both need this cleared up as soon as possible, we both need this sorted out before the end of the year so we can concentrate on next season."
