Struggling Formula One team Jordan have confirmed that they will enter next season's championship, despite losing a deal with engine supplier Ford. The UK-based outfit are close to agreeing a new engine deal with Toyota to secure their racing future.
And they have pledged to finalise that deal by 15 November in order to be in time to register for the new season.
"We haven't submitted our entry yet, but we will do so before Monday's deadline," said a Jordan spokeswoman.
The Silverstone-based team, founded by Irish entrepreneur Eddie Jordan, have been in Formula One since 1991.
They were powered by the Ford-owned Cosworth group this year and expected the partnership to continue in 2005.
But they were left in turmoil when Ford announced they were quitting the sport.
Jordan are also understood to have been in talks with a potential Chinese backer, with team boss Eddie Jordan flying to Beijing last week.
And there hasbeen speculation about a possible involvement by Formula 3000 team boss Christian Horner.
Meanwhile, Minardi say they have already entered the 2005 event, which leaves just Ford-owned Jaguar in doubt.
That team has been up for sale since September.
