Lapwatch: Spanish GP
All the action as it happened at Circuit de Catalunya
Race lasts for 66 laps.

Leading positions:
1 M Schumacher (Ferrari)
2 R Barrichello (Ferrari)
3 J Trulli (Renault)
4 F Alonso (Renault)
5 T Sato (BAR)
6 R Schumacher (Williams)
7 G Fisichella (Sauber)
8 J Button (BAR)

Lap 66: Michael Schumacher wins his 75th grand prix.

Lap 64: Button is not going to get seventh. But Fisichella might get sixth after closing to within three seconds of Ralf Schumacher.

Lap 63: Michael Schumacher is just three laps away from equalling Nigel Mansell's feat of 1992, when the Briton won the first five races of the season.

Lap 61: The race has died as a spectacle. The scrap for seventh is the only decent bit of action on the track.

Lap 56: Button could catch Fisichella in seventh but the rest of the point-scoring positions look settled barring an unexpected mishap.

Lap 53: Jordan's race is over when Pantano drops out.

Lap 50: Michael Schumacher looks destined to make it five out of five in 2004. He is nine seconds ahead of Barrichello.

Lap 47: Montoya's race is over because of brake problems. Button is up to eighth.

Lap 46: Bad news for Jaguar - Klien is out of the race.

Lap 44: Confusion in the Ferrari camp when Barrichello stops. It takes more than 10 seconds before the Brazilian is given the green light to continue.

Lap 43: Alonso follows his Renault team-mate into the pit.

Lap 42: Trulli makes a stop and drops to fifth when he emerges from the pitlane.

Lap 40: Montoya is up to sixth after Fisichella pits.

Lap 39: Raikkonen pits, Ralf Schumacher moving back into the points.

Lap 38: The two Ferraris continue to move away from the chasing pack. Second-placed Barrichello is almost eight seconds in front of Trulli.

Lap 35: Minardi's race comes to an end when Bruni is forced out. Toyota's Panis, who began the race from seventh on the grid, also retires.

Lap 34: There seems to be concern in the Ferrari camp about Michael Schumacher's car. Jordan's Heidfeld retires with a gear-box problem.

Lap 33: Coulthard records his fastest lap of the race.

Lap 30: Montoya is putting the pressure on sixth-placed Fisichella.

Lap 29: Button pits for the second time. Panis is given a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane.

Lap 27: Montoya and Sato both pit.

Lap 25: Michael Schumacher pits for the second time, just after clocking a flying lap, but retains the lead. Alonso and Ralf Schumacher also come in.

Lap 24: Trulli pits - his stop takes just 5.3 seconds - and Barrichello is up to second.

Lap 22: Baumgartner, in a Minardi, is the first of the day's retirements.

Lap 20: Montoya is back up to sixth after Massa and Fisichella both pit.

Lap 16: Barrichello pits, handing the lead back to Michael Schumacher. Barrichello's stop lasts 9.3 seconds.

Lap 14: Barrichello, who has yet to pit, leads the race, with Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher just over 10 seconds behind.

Lap nine: Trulli, Michael Schumacher and Montoya all pit.

Lap eight: Alonso is the first of the leading drivers to pit.

Lap six: Ralf Schumacher is having to fight his way back through the field, finding himself in ninth behind McLaren's Coulthard.

Lap four: Trulli and Michael Schumacher begin to break away from the rest of the field. Sato is struggling to keep up.

Lap one: Trulli moves up three places off the grid to lead at the first corner. Michael Schumacher lies second but Montoya gets off to a bad start.

Ferrari's Michael Schumacher will take all the stopping again as he seeks a fifth straight win in 2004.

He was 0.617 seconds ahead of the chasing pack in qualifying and looks set to maintain his unbeaten start to the campaign barring accidents or mechanical problems.

Bitter rival Juan Pablo Montoya, driving a Williams, will push the five-times world champion hard to opening corner, so expect a few fireworks.

Behind the leading two, Takuma Sato will hope he can hold onto or even improve on his third position in the first few laps.

But BAR team-mate Jenson Button will be hard-pressed to make it four podium finishes in a row from his starting position of 14th on the grid.
