Ferrari are refusing to get carried away by their domination of Formula One season after winning the first three Grands Prix of the season. Technical director Ross Brawn said after Michael Schumacher's win in Bahrain on Sunday: "It has been a fantastic start to the season.
"But one of our characteristics is to keep our feet on the ground and never take anything for granted."
Schumacher is trying for a record fifth consecutive world title this year.
Juan Pablo Montoya was again Ferrari's closest challenger, but after running most of the race in third place he dropped to third with gearbox problems in his Williams in the closing laps.
"It's clear that we are not quick enough to match Ferrari, at the moment," Montoya said.
"But we were the quickest on Michelin tyres and this is very important for us."
Schumacher's domination has raised the spectre of 2002, when Ferrari won 15 of the 17 races. "People might compare this with 2002 but I don't have a problem with that honestly," said Schumacher.
"There is still a long way to go and the rest will catch up so we have to be prepared. The others will raise their game."
Ferrari were fined $10,000 (5,414) for allowing Rubens Barrichello to leave his pit too soon, risking a collision with Renault's Jarno Trulli.
