| F1 officials reject complaint ![]() Schumacher passed Raikkonen after a mistake Michael Schumacher illegally won the French Grand Prix after passing Kimi Raikkonen when yellow caution flags were waving, according to McLaren boss Ron Dennis. But race officials rejected the claim and upheld the German's victory. McLaren said they would not take the matter any further after the stewards' decision. Schumacher took the lead with five laps to go when Raikkonen slid wide on oil left by a Toyota, which had a blown engine. The win meant he has enough of a points advantage to be uncatchable for the rest of the season. But Dennis said: "Kimi entered a yellow flag zone and Michael overtook before there was a green one to let him pass. "The regulation is explicit - and Kimi was overtaken under a yellow flag." Dennis said it was not up to him to make a protest - but that the race stewards should investigate the incident themselves. After calling all relevant parties up to the race-control office to discuss the issue, they decided that Schumacher had done nothing wrong. |
