Eddie Kennett used to be on the books at Arlington

Coventry Bees captain Eddie Kennett said he was disappointed their Elite League meeting at Eastbourne Eagles was abandoned on Monday.

The home side were 22-14 ahead after six heats before rain curtailed events at Arlington without a result.

Former Eagles rider Kennett said: "It's a shame because Bob Dugard and all the boys here did a fantastic job of trying to get the meeting on.

"It was pretty dangerous out there, you certainly couldn't do any overtaking."

Bees are next in action at home to Swindon Robins on Friday.
