Poole Pirates take maximum haul against Swindon Robins

Poole beat Swindon Robins after pulling away in the closing races to secure a 50-42 win in the Elite League.

Robins Polish star Maciej Janowski was the top points scorer with a haul of 13, one point ahead of Scott Nicholls.

But the Pirates showed their class to land maximum points from the meeting with Chris Holder, Davey Watt, Dennis Andersson and Darcy Ward all starring.

Swindon's Danish new boys Nicolai Klindt and Jesper B Monberg scored eight and three points respectively.

And co-owner Gary Patchett has dismissed reports suggesting Monberg has only joined the club on a 28-day contract with a potential deal to return to Peterborough in the pipeline.

"Jesper is committed to Swindon," he said. "We have invested heavily in making it possible for Jesper to resume his British career and there is no way we would have done that just for a month so he could then move back to Peterborough."
