Poole Pirates were dealt another injury blow when Dave Watt and Renat Gafurov were withdrawn during the 57-33 defeat at Eastbourne Eagles on Sunday. Pirates captain Watt, 33, has had an X-ray for an ankle injury while Gafurov, 28, suffered a dislocated shoulder. The duo join Darcy Ward on the casualty list after the Australian broke his wrist and shoulder last week. Pirates are yet to confirm if Watt and Gafurov will return for the second leg against the Eagles on Wednesday. The challenge at Eastbourne on Sunday was the Pirates' first competitive meeting of the season, with their first league fixture being scheduled for 28 March against Birmingham Brummies.
