A former Leicester Lions supporters' club chairman has accepted an offer to co-promote the re-formed club. Ken Naylor was determined to see the sport return to the city 28 years after it disappeared and will get his wish when the new season begins in April. "The sole purpose [as supporters' club chairman] was to see speedway return and I feel my work is done," he said. "When David Hemsley [promoter] invited me to be co-promoter I didn't hesitate, which means I will remain involved." Naylor added: "There are still many challenges ahead and I will be looking into the possibility of launching a youth development programme that will provide opportunities at Beaumont Park for newcomers at little or no cost to the riders."
