Jonathan Rea collected the Irish Motorcyclist of the Year award for the third time at the Adelaide Racer Awards at the Ramada Hotel on Friday night. Rea edged out last year's winner Eugene Laverty, with Michael Laverty in third. Ryan Farquhar won the Irish Road Racer award, Ian Hutchinson was top in the International Road Racer category and Sammy Miller entered the Hall of Fame. Relentless by TAS Suzuki was named Team of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award went posthumously to Joey Dunlop. Glenn Irwin was Young Rider of the Year and sidecar champion Klaus Klaffenbock won the International Achievement Award. Portadown rider Marshall Neill took a Short Circuit Merit award and Alastair Seeley's success in the feature Superbike race at the North West 200 was voted Fans' Race of the Year by readers of Irish Racer magazine.
