Ipswich Witches stormed to a 64-32 second leg victory over Newcastle Diamonds in Thursday's play-off to retain their place in the Elite League. The Witches already held a two-point advantage from the first leg on Tyneside but blew away the Premier League play-off winners at Foxhall. A paid 14 from Pole Dawid Stachyra led the way for the Witches, coupled with Scott Nicholl's paid 12. Dane Kenni Larsen top scored for the Diamonds with 13. As the Elite League's bottom side Ipswich had to face off against the the Premier League's play-off champions to decide who will feature in the top flight next season.
