Tincknell in action at Silverstone |
Exeter-based racing driver Harry Tincknell endured a tough weekend at Silverstone in the penultimate round of the Formula Renault Championship. After starting 10th on the grid in race one, Tincknell was forced to retire after suffering a rear suspension failure on lap nine. Race two saw Tincknell rise up two places to finish eighth, claiming an important 14 championship points. Tincknell remains fourth in the standings with two races remaining. He said: "It wasn't a good weekend, but I'm glad I managed to salvage something for myself and the team with a few points from race two. "Of course, the championship is out of my reach now, but I'm not settling for fifth place and you can expect to see me fighting at Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks - I want to end the season with a win." The Formula Renault UK Championship concludes at Brands Hatch in Kent on 9-10 October.
