Crutchlow won his first World Championship race at Silverstone

Coventry's Cal Crutchlow was "ecstatic" after his maiden race victory in the World Superbike Championship.

Crutchlow won both races at Silverstone, heading an all-British podium on each occasion and also set a new lap record on Sunday.

"I would rather have had one earlier in the year and one today, but we've been fighting for this all year and here it is," said the Yamaha rider.

Crutchlow is fifth in the championship as the series now heads for Germany.
