Tincknell is currently third in the Formula Renault Championship |
Devon racing driver Harry Tincknell is third in the 2010 Formula Renault Championship after securing a podium place at round eight in Cheshire. The 18-year-old from Exeter, who drives for CRS Racing, finished third at Oulton Park to take his Championship points total up to 167. Tincknell said: "I had a great start and almost got up to second. "I kept consistent and managed to get a few more points, which is crucial at this stage of the season." The Exeter-based racer will now head to the next round of the Championship at Croft, North Yorkshire, from 19-20 June. The 2010 Formula Renault Championship is held at 10 different venues across the UK, with the last round at Brands Hatch in October. Tincknell won the 2009 Formula Renault UK Graduate Cup with 11 race wins out of 20 starts. That performance led to the talented young driver being selected as a member of the UK Motor Sports Association's national squad, a team that is focused on producing the next generation of British champions.
