Tincknell was the 2009 Formula Renault UK Graduate Cup Champion

Exeter racing driver Harry Tincknell has started the 2010 Formula Renault Championship with two podium finishes.

The 18-year-old, who qualified seventh on the grid for the season's first race at Thruxton on Saturday, rose up through the field to finish third.

Tincknell then finished third in the second race despite intense pressure from Swedish driver Tom Blomqvist.

"It was a good first weekend," said Tincknell. "The car has performed well and we have a strong set-up."

The Devon racer won the 2009 Formula Renault UK Graduate Cup with 11 wins out of 20 races.
