Jon Cook's Lakeside finished third in the 2009 Elite League
Lakeside co-promoter Jon Cook insists his Hammers side still have plenty to do to win Speedway's Elite League Knockout Cup Final.
The Hammers take a 23-point advantage to Coventry for Friday's second leg.
But Cook told BBC Essex: "The danger is thinking that the job is done, and we'll certainly be making sure that's not the case.
"They've got to be professional about the job they're going out to do. They want to finish the year as winners."
The Hammers will be missing Joonas Kylmakorpi for the fixture after he decided to have surgery on an elbow injury that has been troubling him in recent weeks.
And Cook believes his decision is the right one for the team.
"He'd be doing us no favours turning up at Coventry in that state," he said.
"His decision will have given us an extra chance to achieve what everyone at the club wants which is some silverware at the end of the season."
Lakeside won the first leg 59-36 at the Arena Essex Raceway.
