Tom P Madsen finished as top scorer on the night with 12 points |
Tom P Madsen won a dramatic final heat at Somerset to send the Stoke Potters into the last four of the Young Shield. The Potters were beaten 49-43 in Friday's second leg, but prevailed 95-92 on aggregate, courtesy of their first-leg victory at Loomer Road. Stoke went into the 15th heat one point ahead in the tie, and Madsen kept his nerve to secure victory. "I'm absolutely delighted for everyone connected to the club," said Stoke promoter Dave Tattum. "The team have done us all proud, everyone chipped in with points and every point was vital. "I asked the lads to give a big performance over the two legs and they have come up with the goods and I could not have asked for anymore. "We now look forward to the semi finals and wait to hear who we are against next."
