Priaulx says a win at Valencia could harm his chances in Pau and Brno (Getty) |
Andy Priaulx says it may be better for him not to win at Valencia this weekend. WTCC rules state that race winners have to carry extra weight in their cars for the next race, which the driver says is more important. "Pau and Brno, the two races after Valencia, are very much ballast tracks," Priaulx said on BBC Guernsey. "If you carry extra weight you have to carry it all the way up the hill and in Pau and Brno there's big steep hills." "Those races are more important than Valencia in a lot of ways. "I don't take on too much extra ballast for just a few extra points in Valencia," he said.
