Richmond driver Robert Lawson has extended his lead in the SEAT Cupra Championship to 18 points after two wins at Donnington last weekend. Lawson, who leads Martin Byford, told BBC Radio York: "I'm chuffed to bits. It's been brilliant. "When you start on pole you're in the best position but there is a lot of pressure with that." The 30-year-old has won four out of six championship races and took 41 points from a maximum of 44 at the weekend. His time also broke the existing SEAT Cupra Championship lap record. "We've made a go of it and I'm very pleased for myself and the team. "For myself and my sponsors, for me to get two wins this weekend in front of all those guys is a fantastic feeling," Lawson added. And he is looking forward to the next race meeting at Thruxton on 16-18 May. "I like Thruxton. We had two pole positions there last year in the Clios. "We tested well there a couple of weeks ago so we'll have to really have a game plan. "We'll re-group, talk things through, work out a strategy and we'll do our best there too."
