Meeke won his class in Germany |
Kris Meeke has won the junior world championship class of the German Rally after being second fastest in three of the last four stages of the event. After an eventful day on Saturday Meeke moved into the lead and maintained his advantage to win by over 38 seconds.
Meeke won despite being without brakes for all of stage four and he said that it had been a "scary experience".
"I think my heart stopped about 10 times during that stage," the Dungannon man told BBC Sport.
Meeke dropped one minute and 15 seconds on Saturday's opening stage because of a puncture but he quickly raced back into contention.
He produced a series of fastest times to narrowly beat Bernd Casier.
