Hakkinen makes return to racing
Former F1 world champion Mika Hakkinen
Hakkinen won the F1 World Championship twice in the 90's
Former Formula One world champion Mika Hakkinen finished eighth in his return to action in the opening race of the German Touring Car Championship (DTM).

The Finn, F1 title winner in 1998 and 1999, is racing for the first time since 2001 with the Mercedes team.

But he finished well adrift of fellow ex-Formula One racer Jean Alesi.

Britain's Gary Paffett was second in a Mercedes with European F3000 champion Jamie Green sixth and Allan McNish back in 11th.
