Britain's Allan McNish will race against ex-Formula One world champion Mika Hakkinen after signing for Audi in the German DTM series. Hakkinen is making a racing return next season in the series for Mercedes.
And 2004 Le Mans Endurance Series runner-up McNish said: "DTM (Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters) has got a very high pedigree of drivers....like Mika.
"DTM is new territory for me but having visited the series finale, I can say the racing is very fast and furious."
McNish said he would be making no predictions ahead of the season as a "DTM new boy".
Aside from Hakkinen, his rivals in the championship include former F1 drivers Jean Alesi and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
