Neal made the best possible start to the season |
Honda driver Matt Neal won twice at Donington to take the overall lead after the first three races of the British Touring Car Championship. Neal edged Vauxhall's Yvan Muller by just 0.339 seconds after taking the lead from the Frenchman on the final lap of the opening race.
Muller won the second race from MG's Rob Collard and Neal.
But Neal beat team-mate Dan Eaves and Muller to bag his second win in the final race of the day.
"What a great day for everyone in the team. A lot of hard work has gone into this," said Neal.
Vauxhall's Colin Turkington had a poor start to his campaign with his new team.
Turkington could only manage fifth in the opening race after starting from pole position, retired from race two and ended up eighth in the third.
Seat driver Jason Plato also had a mediocre day, finishing sixth, fifth and sixth respectively.
