Britain win silver at pentathlon World Championships

Fell added silver to the individual medal she won in Beijing

Britain's women won silver in the team competition at the modern pentathlon World Championships in China.

Heather Fell, who won individual Olympic silver in 2008, was the highest placed Briton in eighth.

Freyja Prentice, 20, was ninth while Samantha Murray, 22, finished 22nd in her first senior world championship.

France's Amelie Caze won her third individual World Championship crown and helped her country to team gold, while Germany won bronze.

Fell led the British challenge from the start and climbed to fourth place after the first shooting element of the run/shoot, but had a disappointing second shoot to drop to eighth.

Prentice's time of 12:20.61 ensured she climbed from 16th place to cross the line just behind Fell in ninth, while Murray dropped three place to finish 22nd.

Britain's three male pentathletes earlier missed out on places in the final.
