Three British pentathletes will make their European Championships debut in Germany from 25-30 June after GB named a nine-strong squad.
Russell North and Gareth Evans are added to a men's squad also featuring Sam Weale and Nick Woodbridge.
And another debutant, Lee Ormerod, will travel to Leipzig for the team relay.
Louise Helyer joins Olympic duo Heather Fell and Katy Livingston, plus 2006 Euro bronze-medallist Mhairi Spence, in the women's squad.
Teenagers Freyja Prentice and Steven Mason will miss the European Championships to concentrate on the World Junior Championships in Taipei at the start of July.
"It's a significant competition for us because of the traditional strength of our sport in Europe," said GB performance director Jan Bartu.
"As much as we'd like success in Leipzig, we'd trade it for success at the London World Championships, which is the biggest competition of the year for us."
The World Championships take place at Crystal Palace from 13-17 August.
