Padraig Harrington recorded a hole-in-one as he carded a 72 in the final round of the Masters on Sunday. The Irishman aced the 16th to move back to even par after slipping to three over after 12 holes.
Just 10 minutes later, American Kirk Triplett followed suit at the same hole to claim only the 17th hole-in-one in Masters history.
It was also the third of the tournament following Chris DiMarco's effort at the sixth on the first day.
Harrington said: "I had 177 yards and hit a down-the-shaft 6-iron. It was my fifth hole-in-one and third as a professional.
"I was delighted. It was good, something to cheer about. Things hadn't been going right until then."
Triplett, who was in the pairing behind Harrington's, fell to the ground in shock after his effort.
"I didn't know how to react," Triplett said. "Just laying on the hallowed ground. I couldn't believe it."
Both men received a crystal bowl for their achievement, the first aces on the hole since American Ray Floyd turned the trick in 1996.
