Sandy Lyle birdied the closing two holes at Augusta for a nine-over-par aggregate at the Masters. Emulating his memorable feat in 1988, when he won the title, the Scot sunk a tricky putt at the last for a birdie and a round of 76.
At the same mark was compatriot Paul Lawrie, whose round of 77 included five bogeys and a triple bogey at the 12th.
The 1999 Open champion also managed three birdies at the par fives, the second, eight and 15th.
While Lyle, who has lost his tour card, will continue to be invited to Augusta as a former champion, Lawrie's chances of competing at future Masters tournaments are not as good.
Lawrie has not had to qualify for the tournament since winning the Open in 1999.
But that privilege has now expired and he needed a top-16 finish here to automatically qualify for next year's event.
