Welsh star Philip Price enjoyed a fine opening round on his Masters debut to card a one-under-par 71 at Augusta. Price grabbed two early birdies - at the par-three fourth and par-five eighth - to send him scurrying up the leaderboard.
The 38-year-old produced a stunningly consistent round only to spoil it slightly by bogeying the 18th.
Ian Woosnam, meanwhile, finished four-over-par, after dropping shots on the sixth, ninth, 17th and 18th.
Price was delighted with his first competitive round at Augusta, but admitted to having received some expert advice.
"I had a practice round with Sandy Lyle and Jose Maria Olazabal and they were telling me where the pin positions were going to be so I had a head start," he said.
