Davies is chasing a record eighth LET merit title |
Britain's Laura Davies is targeting top spot in the Ladies' European Tour Order of Merit after winning the Women's Indian Open in Delhi. Davies, 47, won a four-way play-off to keep her hopes alive of topping the LET rankings at the season-ending Dubai Ladies Masters (8-11 December). She is currently euros 32,444 short of South African Lee-Ann Pace's earnings. "This means I have to win in Dubai to surpass Lee-Anne," she said. The Dubai prize fund totals euros 500,000. Four-time major winner Davies's victory in India gave her a 77th career title. She is chasing a record eighth LET Order of Merit, having topped the money list in 1985, 1986, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2006.
