Sweden's Alex Noren holed from a bunker for an eagle at 15 on the way to edging out Wales' Bradley Dredge to win the European Masters in Switzerland.
Noren fired a final-round 66 to secure his first European Tour title by two strokes from Dredge, who carded a 65.
England's Ross McGowan was a shot back in third in the event, which serves as Europe's first qualifying tournament for next year's Ryder Cup.
Rory McIlroy fired eight birdies and an eagle in a final-round 64.
The best round of the day lifted the Northern Irishman, who lost a play-off to finish as a runner-up in the tournament last year, up to a share of seventh place.
England's Lee Westwood closed with a 66 for 23rd place - along with 16-year-old Italian amateur Matteo Manassero.
Noren went into the final round with a two-shot lead after a blistering round of 63 on Saturday.
Dredge emerged as his main challenger when he pitched in from 63 yards to eagle the par-five 9th on the way to going out in 32.
The 2006 winner picked up birdies at 10 and 11 to move to 18 under par before his first bogey of the day on the following hole.
A birdie at the 15th piled the pressure on Noren but, having birdied the 14th, the 27-year-old Swede saw his shot from a greenside bunker at the 15th drop to move him to 20 under.

Both players parred the closing three holes to mean it was Noren who collected the £292,000 prize.
"It was a fun battle and Alex produced a great shot on the 15th - so congratulations to him," said Dredge.
Noren added: "I was so happy when that bunker shot went in. I've never felt this good about my game and to win was just brilliant."
