Holywood's Rory McIlroy fired a disappointing final round of three-over-par 75 at the European Open to end on three under at the London Golf Club. McIlroy carded seven bogeys and four birdies to fall back to 12th position. Graeme McDowell ended the tournament on three over after a final round 74 which saw him register two double-bogeys and an eagle on his front nine. Peter Lawrie ended one over after a 74 and Paul McGinley four over after a 73. Christian Cevaer won on seven under. McIlroy had started the day in third place on six under, three shots behind leaders Cevaer and Jeev Milkha Singh. Portrush man McDowell recorded a birdie, a bogey and seven pars on his inward nine and ended in a tie for 39th position. Gary Orr, Alvaro Quiros and Steve Webster were equal second, a shot behind Frenchman Cevaer. Gareth Maybin, Darren Clarke, Michael Hoey, Gary Murphy, Damien McGrane and debutant Shane Lowry had all missed the halfway cut.
